Here's a lovely fun song I composed in 1974 while on a trip along the Cape Garden Route in South Africa. My children and I sang it then, and their children sing it now.

ALL I WANT IS A LOLLIPOP
by Shirley Friedman

All I want is a lollipop, a lollipop, a lollipop,
All I want is a lollipop to while away the time.
All I want is some candy floss, candy floss, candy floss,
All I want is some candy floss to while away the time.

I wouldn't mind a piece of chocolate
To tell the truth, I'd love a bit.
Or may I could have a candy bar. .
Ja, ja, ja, ja, ja!

All I want is a lollipop, a lollipop, a lollipop,
All I want is a lollipop to while away the time.

All I want is a lollipop, a lollipop, a lollipop,
All I want is a lollipop to while away the time.
All I want is some candy floss, candy floss, candy floss,
All I want is some candy floss to while away the time.

I wouldn't mind a piece of licorice
I'd tell myself, you lucky fish.
Or maybe I could have some chewing gum.
Yum yum yum yum yum, lekker stuff!

All I want is a lollipop, a lollipop, a lollipop,
All I want is a lollipop to while away the time.
